HELIO will be playing in downtown LA tonight at the closing short film block of the Downtown Film Festival L.A., starting at 7:00pm. The location is the Regent Theater: 448 S. Main St., Los Angeles, CA 90013. If you can’t make it, don’t worry – Helio will be playing in more LA-based festivals this summer!
The Middlebury New Filmmakers Festival (MNFF) was formed to support, promote and exhibit the dynamic and imaginative efforts of new filmmakers. This year’s festival runs August 27-30.
A big thank you to the MNFF selection committee! Stay tuned for more updates.
Exciting news, guys! Moviemaker Magazine just gave a shout-out to HELIO in their post on the FilmQuest Festival experience!!! Check out the excerpt below:
“The variety, creativity and production quality of the films impressed beyond my expectations and helped banish the notion that genre events are somehow less serious than traditional film festivals. Whether your thing is mind-warping horror (The House at the End of Time), time-travel comedy (“One-Minute Time Machine”) or dystopian sci-fi (“Helio”), there was much to take seriously.” #HelioTheFilm #FilmQuest #MovieMaker
Check out what Film Pulse had to say about HELIO at FilmQuest:
“Teddy Cecil’s “Helio” is an ambitious dystopian tale about one man who seizes an opportunity to find out just what lies beyond the city limits. It features plenty of great visual effects, quite noteworthy because of its low budget, well paced action sequences and an engaging story that will make you want to see reach its unexpected conclusion.”
Thank you FilmQuest! We could hardly believe the lineup and were honored that HELIO was a part of it. Highly recommended for all filmmakers and cinefiles.
HELIO will be at FilmQuest this weekend for its Utah Premiere! We’re in the running for Best Short Sci-Fi Film and Best Visual Effects! A guaranteed good time. The film block we’re in is the first of the festival on Friday and the lineup is incredible: 3 Versos, Gear, Pheonix, Sumer, The Black Forest, The Peripheral, The Smiling Man, and Total Awesome Viking Power.
